This project transforms a high-speed arterial corridor into a walkable, transit-connected urban boulevard through a series of targeted interventions: vegetated bulbouts to slow traffic and shorten crossing distances, bioretention rain gardens for stormwater management, a multi-use pathway on both sides of the street, and added crosswalks to improve east-west permeability between communities. The proposal was developed through site analysis, precedent research, and engagement with City of Calgary professionals, moving from schematic diagrams to construction-ready drawings including hardscape, planting, grading, and detail plans.
